Inside the dome, it is quieter than you expect.
In a square sauna, heat collects at the ceiling. In a dome, heat travels along the curve and wraps your whole body. Sound doesn't get stuck either. When someone speaks quietly, the sound returns along the curve. If you stay quiet, it gets even quieter.
The benches are deep.
You can sit cross-legged. You can lie down. You can face the person next to you. When the posture is free, people stay longer.
After the sauna, the cold plunge.
KAYUN has 17°C and 5°C. Hokkaido has 17°C and 7°C individual baths. 5°C and 7°C — go slow the first time. 17°C is more than enough.
Outside, there is fire and sky.
In Ubud, you can sit around the fire for hours. Looking at the fire, somehow you want to talk. On the Kuta rooftop, you lie on the U-shaped beanbags. The sky is right there. The layout means your eyes don't meet by default. You talk only when you want to.
Sometimes people come for the sauna, and then stay by the fire for a long time. Some people look at the sky and say nothing. Come alone if you like. By the time you leave, the world feels a little closer.
