Down a narrow road in Mas Village, the air changes.
Rice fields, woodcarvers' workshops, a temple. No tour buses come here. KAYUN is at the end of that road.
The big tree at the entrance came from Pura Taman Pule.
It stands in the middle of the yoga shala. Balinese people still come and pray here. Next to it, the geodesic dome sauna.
How it goes
The sauna is around 90°C. About 8 minutes is the limit. The bench inside is deep. The cold plunge is right there. 17°C, or the 5°C challenge plunge behind it. 17°C is enough for the first time. You drop into a chair, look up at the tree. Leaves, wind, birds. Only the sound of the forest.
Outside, there is a fire pit.
You can sit by the fire for hours. Sometimes you end up talking to the person next to you. Some people just watch the fire without saying a word.
Things you can do together
Yoga, then sauna. Food at the café, then sauna. Temple visits, then sauna on the way back. Mas Village is not a place tour buses come to. The people who arrive here found it themselves. It is always quiet.
